Khutze Inlet

After cruising the Mussel Inlet and Poison Cove area, we headed west into Sheep Passage to rejoin Finlayson Channel, a major byway of the Inside Passage route to SE Alaska. We arrived into Khutze Inlet, a new place for us, and were wowed by the fiord-like vistas, even though we were no longer in the Fiordland area. Amazing! We were tired after a long day underway and not enough sleep the night before, so we didn't do any dinghy exploring.

Entering Khutze Inlet from Finlayson Channel.

More view as we enter...

It all opens up to the grandest view up into the estuary and the deep valleys.

The beautiful waterfall and a couple other boaters.

Just before the sun came over the mountain the next day.

See the sun hitting the snowy mountain?

As the sun rises... we depart.

About Us

The salt water has been part of our lives for over 40 years, and we have owned sailboats for most of those.  We love the PNW and all that it has to offer with the beautiful Salish Sea, access to the Pacific Ocean and the wildlife that inhabit these areas.  We have the opportunity to expand our usual areas of exploration this year, and will depart May 24, 2021 for SE Alaska.
